This is my latest project on the go. A really nice and original L41 Bubbla, one family owned and been off the road for quite sometime.
As it is such a fine example the plans are to do a sympathetic resto, buff the paint, go through engine & brakes and basically give it a really good clean.
A really big thank you to Jonas and Niklas who both helped me get this lovely car.

The clean up has begun

The paint is buffing up to a great shine, this pic is with the paint hand polished only. Got to wet sand with 2000 grit and machine polish for a real deep shine next.

Had the Carb, Dizzy and Fuel Pump overhauled by RAGE in the Netherlands. They have come up like new!

The inner arches are all solid. It is a shame the original owner started to strip them, he must of used a chisel as it has damaged the paint so will require sanding and re-painting.

Started to clean up the underside of the pan and then applied some protective wax to keep the rust away!

Well it has been a long time since my last update. Been busy with work, getting married and a nice long honeymoon!
The '61 has progressed well and is almost ready for inspection, just a few small jobs to do first.

Well the '61 is now finished, just had its first MOT(bes) and it passed with flying colours ICQ/ab Just waiting for the registration to come through so I can start using the bubbla.

I do understand how you feel but I have personally delivered VW's to Sweden too, I does work both ways sometimes. It has been cool to work on such a nice original car.

Now that it is finished I have been out and about in the '61, took it to a show at the weekend. It was about 160km round trip, the car performed great.
