Andreas Jonsson in his 1964 VW Beetle, running a built 2.6l waterboxer engine, running in the Cash Days Competition at the SCC Event in Norway. He had a small scare in one of the runs, when his car wheeled off the line and pulled left. Andreas kept his foot in, and gathered it back up for the win. Andreas made it through to the 1/4 finals, where he got knocked out by the Mexxspeed Racing K-Ghia, when he unfortunatley red lit.

He still walked away with the quickest time for a car with the original type1 magnesium engine case, and and a prize from CSP - 'The Magnesium Flash Award', with a time of 9.98 @ 140mph.
Johan also holds the World Record for the world's quickest in the VW Super 1600 Challenge PA Race (PA = Power Adder)! The class is for VW based air cooled 1600 engine with original bore, stroke length and valve size, with a best time of 9.46 @ 151mph.

Johan Fahlgren from Sweden was at the SCC Event in Norway in his Air-Cooled VW Type 3 Notchback. With a 3078cc engine, lots of custom work and a turbo, it pushes out 720hp at 2.1bar, via its 4 speed sequential box.
After a few runs where Johan could not quite get things working, I followed him to the track for another run. That is when completely unexpected, he put in a run of 8.46 @ 165mph, making hime the quickest VW Type 3 in the World.
