Hey VW Raggarn, yes still got the '66. Looking good now just waiting for the weather to improve before it comes out.
Do you have any pics you can send me when you had the car? Always nice to get some history.

Found these aftermarket rear lights at a swapmeet.
Took the muffler back to bare metal a gave a few coats of high temp paint to stop the rust.
Spent a few hours cleaning, prep and paint on the gas tank. Time is short so spent an hour each night until done, little and often!

Sent my glove box lid away to be worked! This is how it came back!

The glove box lid came out real nice!

Got the '66 finished so have been spending a little time on the Patina Project. Spare wheel well had holes so I drilled out the factory spot welds and replaced with a repro panel. To be fair the fit was pretty good after a little work.
After some seam sealer and Golf Blue paint.
Had the rims powdercoated and was thinking of 2 tone paint scheme. For now I have just pinstriped the outer rim. Used a spare spindle and hub so I could rotate the rim by hand to get a steady line. Not perfect but I am pleased with the results.

Spent some time fixing up the interior panels I had to source. Nearly as good as new now.
Wow looks great Johnny!
Thanks guys, trying to give it the love and attention it deserves. This one I want to be a keeper! never been this deep into a resto before. Enjoying the ride.
Cleaned above the gearbox and gave it a coat of L390.
Working 7 days a week for now but still trying to move the project on. Tested the starter and gave it a little refresh.
Took a wire wheel to the luggage tray and gave a few coats of Red Oxide paint for protection. Next up is the sound deadening.
Jabba-dabba-nice..
late,
in love,
and a little drunk..
Got the luggage area fitted with noise reduction material. Used a wallpaper seam roller and a hot air gun, took less than an hour.
10mm carpet underlay fitted, next up is the square weave carpet. That will have to wait until the body is back on the pan.
As the body is finished with the rust repair and paint blending, now it is time to start laying on some clear coat.
Thats awsome. Keep up the good work!!

Made some paper templates for a carpet set, transferred the patterns to some off cut carpet I had and sent them to the trimmers to have the edges bound. Really pleased how they have turned out, saved a chunk of money too.
Looks good...
