Hi everyone
Im going to be heading to borlange in june for the Peace & Love festival in my 72 Westy , I will be getting the ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg then driving up from there.

Can anyone recommend any places of interest and campsites on the road up to borlange ?

My van is pretty low so no rough terrain please  ICQ/ag

Aeroseum in Gothenburg

Then from Gothenburg to Trollhättan (Saab museum) further on road 44 to Kristinehamn.

This route goes close to lake Vänern and there is a lot of nice places, a few exampels: Läckö castle close to Lidköping, Rubens Steam engine collection   Ekhagens forntidsby Falköping

thanks Ill check it out , what's the law with wild camping ? can I just park up anywhere ? or is it frowned upon?

Between Lidköping and Mariestad you have a nice campsite at Råbäckshamn, (we live just 2 km from there so you are welcome to stop by).

it is basically legal to park anywhere and sleep over. as long as you do not endanger others or destroy stuff. you do not need to stay at a campground, it's wasted money. There are many parkingareas along the road and often real flush toilets and water. if you find a parking space on a 24h open gas station, for example, they can find it disturbing that someone sleeping on their parking so they may ask you to leave, so tip is the park at a lake shore or sea or similar. there are usually signs that say if you can camp there. remember not drive on the beaches or sand, without permission. but park on a grass parking next to the beach is allowed.

leave the place as you wish to find it, I think is the main rule.
