What's the difference?
What is a 'Pict'?
The PICT number refers to updates made to them, while the first number (30, for instance) is the basic body size. All 30's for instance have the same flange on the bottom, etc. Here's some info from VW Resource:
"The 30PICT/1 carburetor was designed for the first 1300cc engines in 1966 models and was used on 1967 1500cc models. Then came the 30PICT/2 in 1968/1969 for the 1300/1500cc engines and the 30PICT/3 for the US-only 1970 1600cc single-port engine. These all have the same sized venturi (24mm), which allows a larger airflow than the earlier 28 series - which suits the larger capacities better. The /1, /2 and /3 30PICTs have increasingly complicated fuel circuits for better mixture control. Any of the 30 series (30PICT/1, 30PICT/2, 30PICT/3 and modern replacement H30/31) will work fine with the 1500cc and 1600cc engines."

30 PICT-1
1966 and 1967
This model is similar to the 28 PICT-1 except that it has a larger venturi. This model also does not have a power fuel system.
30 PICT-2
1968 and 1969
This model is like the 30 PICT-1 except that it does have a power fuel system.

"Drabbades" av de här två, och råkade hitta den här gamla tråden.
Jag tycker de här amerikanska svaren missat viktigaste skillnaden eller ?
30PICT-1 har ett snillrikt vakuumsystem avpassat för fördelare med endast undertrycksförställning. Är ur den synpunkt lika med 28PICT-2 (fel angivet ovan). Passande fördelare 113905205 K och L samt 111...T och 315...B. + 7,5 grader grundförställning.
30PICT-2 finns med både fördelare som har enbart vakuumförställning och fördelare med kombinerad centrifugal- och vakuumförställning. Det är ju omöjligt. Kan det finnas olika borrningar? Eller kanske vakuumet alternativt tas ut från insugningsröret? (enbart automat?)
